betula veneer

Application prototype
Client: nevi

As is well known, new materials have a hard time establishing themselves in the market. The customer benefit must be identified and represented. Therefore, the challenge for us was to devise new applications for the betula veneer surface material and then present it in a vivid and appealing manner at interzum 2019.

Lets dream of new possibilities in interior design.

The majority of the material used to create betula veneer is a renewable raw material: Russian birch bark. In addition to it‘s bacteriostatic qualities, it also has an extremely pleasant feel. We carried out initial material studies, before working on possible application scenarios. The result? A trade fair installation was created, showcasing clear references to the sanitary design, yet without restricting the imagination of the viewer. It generated great interest amongst the trade fair audience, not least because the piece spawned dreams of multitudes of interior design possibilities.

The design, creation, modelling and realisation of the exhibition presence stemmed from a single source, Berlin based Lippert Studios.
