Duomat 9
The DUOMAT 9 is a powerful dual-motor system specifically designed for use in nursing and hospital beds. In addition to its high functionality, the design focused above all on creating a clear, safe and durable product. The exterior design facilitates intuitive operation and highlights the product’s technical precision – making it ideal for demanding medical environments.
Initial design sketches
Foam model
A true-to-scale foam model was produced to check the proportions and ergonomics. Ideal for assessing the shape realistically, as well as judging proportions and handling it in physical space.

Color Variations
Underbed lighting for optimal illumination
To investigate the light distribution, we constructed a dummy using a UBB board and various precision prism plates. The 115° prism structure was particularly impressive due to its uniform light diffusion along the Duomat.
